Plantation Worker Remanded Over Serious Sexual Offence Investigation

Date:

A plantation worker was remanded for seven days by the Magistrate’s Court today after he was suspected of raping his biological daughter over the past two months.

The remand order against the 41-year-old suspect was issued by Magistrate Nurasidah A Rahman, effective from today until next Thursday.

It will allow police to complete investigations under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code, including recording statements from both the victim and the suspect.

Based on the police report, the victim had kept silent for two months about the abuse before eventually confiding in a friend.

The report stated that the incident allegedly took place between 6pm and 7pm at the suspect’s home while the victim’s mother, a Vietnamese national, was out at work.

The victim also claimed the last assault occurred on May 9.

Following the disclosure, the victim was accompanied by a teacher to Hospital Sultanah Nora Ismail (HSNI) for treatment, where medical personnel later lodged a police report.
