Police Officer And Wife Killed In Early Morning Crash, Four Children Injured

Date:

A police officer and his wife were killed while their four children were injured in a road accident involving two vehicles at Km76 of Jalan Kuantan–Segamat near Paloh Hinai early this morning.

The victims, Inspector Syah Lokman Ludza Ramli, 50, attached to the Kuantan district police headquarters, and his wife Nurulfiza Ardiana Ambak, 46, were confirmed dead at the scene in the 3am crash.

Pahang police chief Superintendent Zaidi Mat Zin said the accident involved the victim’s Proton Wira and a Honda City carrying a married couple travelling from Gelang Patah to Terengganu.

He said preliminary investigations found that Syah Lokman was travelling from Kuantan towards his hometown in Jempol, Negeri Sembilan when the incident occurred.

“Investigations showed that the driver lost control of the vehicle before it veered into the opposite lane and collided with the Honda City,” he said.

The impact killed both Syah Lokman and his wife instantly, while their four children aged between 10 and 18 sustained injuries and were taken to Muadzam Shah Hospital for treatment.

The Honda City driver escaped with minor injuries, while his 22-week pregnant wife is receiving treatment at the same hospital.

Police said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving causing death.
