Police have arrested four individuals, including a man, to assist in investigations into a brawl believed to have stemmed from personal disputes and a debt of RM20,000 in the Sentul Raya area recently.
Sentul district deputy police chief Superintendent Jasni Zolpa said the incident occurred on the day before yesterday at about 1pm.
He said so far, a total of four suspects comprising one man and three women have been detained to assist investigations.
“The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting with weapons,” he said at a press conference today.
All suspects have been remanded for two days, with the remand period ending today.
He added that initial investigations found the fight was believed to have been triggered by personal relationship issues as well as an outstanding debt of RM20,000.
“Investigations also found that all suspects knew each other and had prior personal relationships,” he said.
Police have also identified three other suspects who are still at large, and efforts to track them down are ongoing.
“All arrests were made in the Sentul area, and further action will be taken against those involved,” he added.
