Taxi Driver Threatened with Knife, Vehicle Stolen by Passenger in Sungai Besi

An elderly taxi driver narrowly avoided injury after a passenger threatened him with a knife and attempted to steal his vehicle near Sungai Besi on Friday night.

Brickfields police chief Assistant Commissioner Hoo Chang Hook said the incident occurred at around 7.30pm when the victim picked up a 44-year-old man at the Salak Selatan LRT station.

“The suspect initially requested to be taken to the Kuchai Lama MRT bus station, but suddenly changed the destination to Central Residence along the Sungai Besi Expressway,” Hoo said.

Police are investigating the case and have urged anyone with information about the suspect to come forward.
