Teen Injured In Blaze That Destroyed Five Terrace Houses

A 15-year-old boy sustained burn injuries after a fire broke out involving five terrace houses at Taman Londang, Parit Raja on Friday night.

The victim, identified as Muhammad Fariz Abdullah, was rushed to hospital for treatment following the incident, which occurred at about 8.21pm.

Johor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) operations commander Mohd Shamin Mohamed Salikin said emergency services received a distress call at the same time the blaze was reported.

He said 13 firefighters from the Ayer Hitam fire station, with support from the Rengit station, were deployed to the scene.

The fire involved five permanently built terrace units numbered 11 to 15, with each unit measuring approximately 14 by 22 feet.

According to him, House No. 13 suffered about 90 per cent damage, followed by House No. 12 at 60 per cent.

House No. 14 was 30 per cent damaged, House No. 11 around 25 per cent, while House No. 15 sustained about 10 per cent damage.

Two cars and eight motorcycles were also affected in the incident.

Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control at 8.46pm before fully extinguishing operations ended at 11.10pm.

The cause of the fire and total losses are still under investigation.
