A long-haired man was left injured and required four stitches to his head after allegedly being attacked by three intoxicated individuals at a bak kut teh restaurant in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur.
The incident reportedly took place at around 2am on the 7th of the month at a well-known eatery along Kepong Main Road, where the victim had been dining before the confrontation occurred.
According to Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng, who shared updates on social media, the victim sustained a head injury and was admitted to hospital for treatment, including stitching and further medical attention.
Sources familiar with the case claimed the victim is believed to be an engineer and suffered multiple injuries across his body following the violent altercation.
Police confirmed that three suspects have since been arrested in connection with the case and stated that all of them were allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
Based on circulating video footage, the victim was seen being assaulted after what was believed to be a brief exchange of eye contact. He was reportedly pulled by his hair, struck with chairs, and had hot water and cups thrown at him during the attack.
Despite attempts to escape and plead for the assault to stop, the victim was allegedly pursued outside the restaurant before the attack continued.
Authorities are continuing investigations into the case.
