White SUV Seen Fleeing After 14 Shots Fired In Thailand Road Shooting

Date:

Police in Rayong Province, Thailand, have launched an investigation after an unidentified group opened fire along the Nong Phang Ngai–Na Ta Khwan road in Ta Khan Subdistrict on April 19, 2026, causing panic among residents.

Ban Khai Police Station officers responded to reports of gunfire in Moo 6, where they discovered 14 spent 9mm bullet casings scattered across the roadway. The area was immediately cordoned off as forensic teams collected evidence for fingerprint and DNA analysis.

CCTV footage from the village shows a white SUV, with its licence plate not visible, speeding away from the scene at the time of the shooting. The footage captured a burst of rapid gunfire before the vehicle fled towards Na Ta Khwan Subdistrict in Mueang Rayong District.

A local resident, Kritsakorn, who witnessed the incident, said he was sitting outside his home with friends when he suddenly heard a series of around 14 gunshots. He said there was no prior argument or disturbance before the shooting began.

After the gunfire stopped, residents checked the area and found only bullet casings on the road, prompting them to alert authorities immediately.

Police initially suspect the incident may involve a group of individuals, possibly youths, firing recklessly into the air or in a dangerous display of firearms. Investigators are now working to trace the suspect vehicle’s route using CCTV footage in an effort to identify and apprehend those responsible.
