The much-anticipated Kuching’s Got Talent Grand Finale concluded on August 10th, 2025, showcasing a dazzling array of performances across four exciting categories: Other Talents, Singing for ages 12 and below, Singing for ages 13 and above, and Dancing. The competition attracted over 200 contestants from all over Kuching, but only 35 outstanding acts were shortlisted for the grand finale, turning the event into a spectacular celebration of local talent.
The evening was graced by the presence of the Mayor of Kuching South City Council (MBKS), who delivered an inspiring speech emphasizing the importance of nurturing youth talent. “Our youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow, they are the heartbeat of today. They are full of ideas, talent, and dreams,” he said. Highlighting the council’s commitment beyond infrastructure, the Mayor expressed a vision of vibrant community spaces alive with creativity and energy. “This stage is more than a platform. It’s a launchpad for hidden talents, a meeting point for community spirit, and a powerful reminder that when we give people a chance, they can surprise us, inspire us, and make us proud.”
In the Other Talents category, the competition was fierce. Chung Hua Middle School No. 1 took third place, followed by Bung Rentak in second. The champion was the dynamic beatbox duo, Syncwave, who wowed the audience and judges alike, earning RM2,000 and a trophy.
For the Singing category (12 years old and below), Edmund Chin Yung Hung secured third place, with Syarif Zakwan bin Suhardi as the runner-up. The top honor went to Kaylyn Wong Yan Lin, whose impressive performance earned her RM1,500 and a trophy.
In the Singing category (13 years old and above), Agnes Ling Sing Yue was awarded third place, followed by Summer Wong Li Yii as first runner-up. The champion title was claimed by Phang Zhi Ning, who took home RM3,000 and a trophy for her outstanding vocal talent.
The Dancing category saw Caeki finishing third and Tatakai securing second place. The championship went to My Dance, whose captivating and heart-touching routine captured the hearts of the judges and audience.
Kuching’s Got Talent 2025 proved once again that the city is brimming with gifted individuals ready to shine. The event not only celebrated artistic excellence but also reinforced the community’s dedication to providing platforms where young talents can flourish and inspire.
