A Shopee delivery rider is alleged to have deliberately carried out a wrong delivery before allegedly making off with a parcel after completing the proof-of-delivery process.
The incident was shared by a woman identified only as Toh, who posted CCTV footage from her doorbell camera on HardwareZone on June 27.
She said the missing item was a coffee portafilter and tamper set worth about S$140.
According to Toh, the rider was seen walking along the corridor and appearing to glance at her unit before heading to another unit to take a delivery photo.
Footage also appeared to show the rider handling his phone while taking the proof-of-delivery shot before leaving the area with the parcel still in his possession.
Toh said she never received her package despite the system indicating successful delivery.
She also raised concerns that the method used could have created confusion between neighbours, as the delivery photo suggested the parcel had been left at another unit.
She added that without CCTV evidence, the situation could have led to misunderstandings over responsibility for the missing item.
Following the incident, Toh lodged a report with Shopee, which confirmed that the order has since been refunded.
In a statement, Shopee said it takes such matters seriously and has taken disciplinary action against the delivery personnel involved.
The company also said its internal investigation found that the delivery procedures were not properly followed and assured that steps are being taken to improve compliance with delivery partners.
