A total of 102 traffic summonses were issued for various offences during an integrated enforcement operation conducted in Kuantan on Sunday, involving inspections on 140 motorcycles.
Kuantan district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ashari Abu Samah said the operation, carried out between 4pm and 11pm, uncovered multiple traffic violations mainly involving riders aged between 16 and 30.
Among the offences detected were riding without a valid driving licence, non-compliant number plates, and failure to install side mirrors on motorcycles.
Authorities also identified other violations including illegal modifications to exhaust systems and motorcycle structures, expired road tax, lack of insurance coverage, and faulty braking systems.
A total of 24 motorcycles were seized under Section 64 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for further action, while the Road Transport Department (JPJ) Pahang also issued 220 summonses and impounded one motorcycle.
Police stressed that enforcement will continue against individuals who modify vehicles illegally or compromise road safety, while reminding all road users to comply with traffic laws for their own safety and that of others.
