57-Year-Old Man Plunges to Death From 12th Floor, Leaves Note About Financial Stress

Date:

A 57-year-old man surnamed Wu tragically fell from the 12th floor of a residential building in Fengshan District, Kaohsiung, yesterday evening, resulting in fatal head injuries. Authorities suspect the incident may be linked to financial troubles involving a bank account, though the exact cause of the fall remains under investigation.

Police reported that a note was found on Wu’s person, indicating that his bank account had been “taken over” and that his ATM card had been blocked, preventing him from accessing funds.

Wu reportedly relied mostly on financial support from friends and relatives and occasionally did odd jobs. He had recently been staying at his brother’s home and had a history of mental health issues, receiving medical treatment and medication. His family, however, was unaware of any banking issues mentioned in the note.

Preliminary police investigations have ruled out external interference, and there are no reported records of Wu being involved in a scam. Authorities continue to investigate whether the fall was linked to possible financial disputes or other factors. The case has been referred to the district prosecutor for further examination.
