A food stall and a storage facility were badly damaged after a fire broke out near a school in front of Pekan Ampang here early this morning.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Ashrul Riezal Asbar said firefighters from the Ampang Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched after receiving an emergency call at 3.46am.
The blaze involved two separate premises owned by different individuals, comprising a food stall and a general storage facility.
“About 80 per cent of both premises were destroyed in the fire, but no casualties were reported,” he said.
Firefighters worked to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings, particularly given the location close to a school and other premises.
The operation was completed at about 8.30am, with authorities continuing to assess the scene and damage caused by the fire.
No injuries or deaths were reported in the incident.
