Police are looking for a man who allegedly assaulted and threatened another road user following a driving-related dispute along the North-South Expressway (PLUS) near Nilai on Saturday.
Nilai district police chief Superintendent Johari Yahya said police received a report at about 6.40pm concerning the incident, which involved two men believed to be in their 30s.
Preliminary investigations found that the dispute occurred at about 11am near KM276 of the expressway heading towards Seremban. The disagreement is believed to have started over a driving-related matter before turning physical.
“The suspect allegedly assaulted the victim, causing him to fall, and made criminally threatening remarks before members of the public intervened and broke up the altercation,” Johari said in a statement on Saturday.
Police have since identified the suspect and the vehicle believed to have been involved in the incident. Investigations are being conducted under Sections 323 and 506 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation.
Johari urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the Nilai district police headquarters operations room at 06-7904222 or approach the nearest police station.
The public is also reminded to avoid escalating road disputes, as confrontations between motorists can quickly become dangerous and put other highway users at risk.
