KPDN Cracks Down On Illegal Diesel Storage Under Op Tiris 4.0

Date:

Authorities have uncovered an illegal diesel storage operation at an unnumbered premises being used as a makeshift storage facility in Teluk Panglima Garang, following a raid on Monday under Op Tiris 4.0 (Integrated).

The operation was carried out by the Selangor Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) after two weeks of intelligence gathering on suspected fuel diversion activities in the area.

Selangor KPDN Director Muhamad Hanif Asa’Ari said the raid, conducted at about 5pm, revealed that the premises had no valid licence to store controlled goods.

During the inspection, enforcement officers discovered a skid tank with an estimated capacity of 30,000 litres.

Authorities said the tank contained approximately 4,000 litres of suspected diesel, along with equipment believed to be used for transferring fuel into the storage system.

A local man, believed to be working as a caretaker of the premises, was arrested during the operation.

Preliminary investigations suggest the activity may be linked to suspicious transactions involving controlled goods under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.

The total value of seized items is estimated at around RM50,000, with about RM15,000 in government subsidies believed to have been saved as a result of the raid.

KPDN also reported that from March 16 to June 8, Op Tiris 4.0 operations in Selangor recorded 2,794 inspections and 57 enforcement actions, with total seizures amounting to RM2 million.

Authorities said the ministry remains firm in its stance against any individuals or companies involved in offences under the Control of Supplies Act 1961, and enforcement action will continue without compromise.

Investigations into the case are ongoing.
