Missing Elderly Woman Rescued After Being Found Weak In Swamp Area

An elderly woman with disabilities (OKU) who was reported missing four days ago was found safe but in a weak condition at a former mining swamp area in Kampung Sega Hilir yesterday.

Seremban District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Yatim Osman said the 66-year-old woman was reported missing from Kampung Sega Hilir on July 31.

“The victim, an OKU woman with mental health issues, was found safe. She was discovered in a weak condition and given initial assistance before being taken to Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital for further treatment,” he said in a statement today.

The search and rescue (SAR) operation involved 52 personnel from various agencies, including the police, Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), K9 Detection Unit, local villagers and relevant agencies.

Mohd Yatim thanked all parties involved in the search operation, which helped locate the missing woman.

He also advised families with elderly members, persons with disabilities or individuals experiencing mental health issues to pay close attention to their safety and provide proper supervision to prevent unwanted incidents.
