Residents of Taman Sri Andalas in Klang were left shocked on Monday morning after a naked man, believed to be suffering from mental health issues, was found walking on the roof of a terrace house.
The incident quickly went viral on social media, prompting the Fire and Rescue Department to respond after the homeowner sought assistance to safely remove the man from the roof.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received an emergency call at 6.53am from the homeowner.
A team from the Andalas Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene at around 7am and found a man, believed to be in his 30s, on top of the complainant’s house.
“Firefighters first assessed the situation before calmly persuading the man to come down. He was successfully brought down safely without any injuries,” Ashrul Riezal said.
After the rescue operation, the man was handed over to the Royal Malaysia Police and the Ministry of Health for further action.
The operation concluded at 8.05am.
Earlier, posts circulating on the social media platform Threads claimed the incident was linked to a house break-in. However, authorities have not confirmed any connection, and the man was believed to be experiencing mental health issues.
