“No Special Treatment For RXZ Members”: Terengganu Police Seize 222 Motorcycles During RXZ Members 8.0 Gathering

Date:

Terengganu police seized 222 motorcycles, most of them Yamaha RXZ models, during the RXZ Members 8.0 gathering despite not setting up roadblocks or conducting large-scale traffic operations.

State police chief Datuk Mohd Khairi Khairudin said the motorcycles were confiscated for various traffic offences detected throughout the event across the state.

Police also issued 1,850 traffic summonses over the weekend, with the most common offences involving modified exhaust systems and registration plates that did not comply with legal specifications.

Mohd Khairi stressed that the enforcement action showed no special treatment was given to participants, adding that anyone found breaking the law would face action regardless of the event.

He said although police had honoured their promise not to conduct roadblocks or “pukat” operations, normal enforcement activities continued to ensure road safety and compliance with traffic laws.

Police also arrested six motorcyclists, including a woman and a Singaporean man, for allegedly riding dangerously during the gathering.

The suspects are being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous riding.
