Ipoh police are looking for the owner of a vehicle after several children were seen sticking parts of their bodies through the roof of a moving car along the Meru-Jelapang Highway.
Ipoh district police chief Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Najib Hamzah said police detected a 21-second video of the incident on Facebook yesterday.
He said the incident was believed to have taken place along the Meru-Jelapang Highway at about 6.45pm on Tuesday.
“Efforts are underway to identify the owner of the vehicle and record a statement from the individual to assist with investigations,” he said.
Najib urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the Ipoh District Police Headquarters (IPD) operations room at 05-2451500.
“Members of the public can also channel information to any nearby police station to assist with the investigation,” he said.
The 21-second video, which has since gone viral, showed several girls sticking parts of their bodies through the roof of a car while it was moving.
The incident drew widespread criticism online, with many expressing concern that the children could have been seriously injured and exposed to the risk of a road accident.
