Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun has urged authorities to take immediate action over alleged 3R (race, religion and royalty) remarks circulating on social media.
He said any attempt to drag the state’s royal institution into the Negeri Sembilan state election campaign was inappropriate and could fuel division among the public.
“I urge the authorities to act immediately on issues involving 3R. We do not want accusations and claims involving the palace to become part of this election campaign,” he told reporters after a meet-and-greet session with residents of Kampung Segenting on Monday.
Aminuddin was commenting on a 27-second viral video allegedly showing UMNO Rembau information chief Shukri Samsudin making remarks linking DAP to the Negeri Sembilan royal institution.
The Menteri Besar, who is also Negeri Sembilan Pakatan Harapan chairman, said firm enforcement was necessary to prevent individuals from exploiting sensitive issues that could threaten harmony in the state.
“We do not want anyone inciting division among the people of Negeri Sembilan. I hope the enforcement authorities will take immediate action,” he said.
He stressed that issues involving race, religion and the royal institution should not be politicised during the election, warning that such rhetoric could undermine unity and public order.
