Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced an increase in the Back-to-School Assistance (Bantuan Awal Persekolahan) from RM150 to RM200 under Budget 2027.
The initiative is expected to benefit 5.3 million students nationwide, with the government allocating RM1 billion for the programme.
The increase aims to help parents and guardians manage school-related expenses, including essential supplies and other preparations ahead of the new school term.
The measure forms part of the government’s Budget 2027 initiatives to support families and ease the financial burden of raising school-going children.
