The Tengku Mahkota of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, has called for all military activities in the state to be conducted in a controlled, responsible manner that is safe for the environment.
In a statement, the Crown Prince expressed concern over upcoming training exercises by the Malaysian Armed Forces (Malaysian Armed Forces), particularly those planned in island areas within Pahang, warning that such activities could potentially disrupt the ecosystem, including local flora and fauna.
However, he clarified that his statement should not be interpreted as opposition to military training or efforts to enhance the skills and experience of armed forces personnel.
Instead, he stressed that such exercises must be carried out in a regulated, responsible manner and in harmony with environmental protection efforts as well as the interests of all parties in the state.
In the same statement, Tengku Hassanal instructed the Malaysian Armed Forces and all relevant parties to strictly comply with his directive.
He also warned that he would not hesitate to urge the state government to take appropriate action if any breach of procedures occurs.
