The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has called on relevant authorities to be more proactive in ensuring that basic amenities such as electricity and water supply are provided to the people, particularly in rural and interior areas.
In a statement posted on the Kesultanan Pahang Facebook page, the Royal Household said His Royal Highness has consistently emphasised public welfare and hopes that all communities in the state will have access to essential facilities for a better quality of life.
At the same time, the Ruler expressed appreciation to Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and the Jerantut District and Land Office for their swift action in providing electricity to a family in Kampung Kuala Sat, Ulu Tembeling.
His Royal Highness was pleased that the family, who had lived without electricity for nearly 13 years, finally received supply following prompt intervention by the relevant agencies.
Previously, a three-member family gained public attention after stopping the royal convoy while it was passing through the village, holding a placard reading “Ampun Tuanku, mohon berhenti sekejap” to highlight their hardship.
The Ruler, who was personally driving at the time, stopped to listen to their situation, during which the family explained that they had long lived without electricity.
Following the encounter, TNB and the Jerantut District and Land Office immediately carried out the necessary work, and electricity supply was successfully restored to the home.
