Seputeh Member of Parliament Teresa Kok suffered losses of approximately RM2,000 after her vehicle was reportedly broken into while she was jogging at Bukit Kiara Federal Park on Sunday.
Teresa said she discovered the incident around 7 pm when she returned to her car, which had been parked in the area since about 6:15 pm.
“I found the front passenger-side window had been smashed, and my handbag, which was on the floor of the seat, was missing. I incurred losses of around RM2,000, including cash, red packet money, my identification card, credit cards, and several important documents,” she stated on Facebook.
Following the incident, Teresa lodged a report at the Taman Tun Dr Ismail Police Station.
“The police officer handling my report was very professional. An investigating officer later took my statement, and the forensic unit arrived shortly after to photograph the scene and collect fingerprint evidence from the vehicle. I left the police station around 9:30 pm,” she added.
Teresa also urged the Kuala Lumpur City Hall to consider installing CCTV cameras in the park’s parking area to assist police investigations.
Sinar Harian is seeking confirmation from authorities regarding the case.
