Trump Announces Deal For Hamas Disarmament And Israeli Withdrawal

Date:

US President Donald Trump has announced that an agreement has been reached for the complete disarmament of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza, alongside a phased withdrawal of Israeli forces.

Trump described the deal as a historic step towards lasting peace and regional security, saying it would be implemented through carefully planned stages.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, he said Israeli troops would gradually withdraw as the disarmament process progresses.

He added that once the disarmament is completed, an International Stabilisation Force would work alongside a newly established Palestinian police force to assume responsibility for maintaining security in Gaza and safeguarding neighbouring countries.

Trump said the agreement marked a major milestone in the implementation of his proposed 20-point plan for Gaza.

According to him, Gaza would eventually be governed by a new Palestinian administration that would work closely with a Peace Board to support the Palestinian people and oversee the territory’s future development.

The US president also expressed appreciation to Egypt, Qatar and Türkiye for their mediation efforts, saying their role, together with his administration’s negotiations, had helped secure what he described as a historic breakthrough.

The agreement is expected to be implemented in phases, with further details to be announced as the process moves forward.
