UMNO Youth Urges Voters To Reject Parties Disrespecting Bangsa Johor Sentiment

Date:

UMNO Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh has urged voters in Johor to reject any party that is seen as disrespecting the spirit and sentiments of the Bangsa Johor identity in the upcoming state election.

He said Barisan Nasional’s (BN) victory in the Johor state election should send a clear message that no party should take local sentiments lightly.

Akmal added that recent accusations against Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi require unity among the Bangsa Johor community to defend the state leadership.

He claimed that the decision by Onn Hafiz not to allow parties within the unity government to contest together in the state election had led to various negative perceptions against the leadership.

He further alleged that some quarters had labelled Johor leaders in a derogatory manner, which he said did not reflect the reality of the state’s administration.

According to him, under the leadership of the Johor Menteri Besar, the state has recorded strong economic growth, with Gross Domestic Product (GDP) reaching eight per cent.

He made the remarks during a casual programme with youths at the Pulai Sebatang state constituency in Johor.
