Young Johor Voters Chose Stability Over Hate Politics, Says UMNO Youth

Date:

The outcome of the 16th Johor State Election showed that young voters in the state preferred a political approach based on hope, stability and development rather than one driven by hostility, according to Johor UMNO Youth chief Noor Azleen Ambros.

He said Barisan Nasional (BN) focused its campaign efforts on listening to the concerns of young people through various engagement sessions covering issues such as employment, education, home ownership, entrepreneurship, skills development and the rising cost of living.

“Not once did we use the opportunity to insult, attack or search for faults in others, let alone spread hatred.

“Everything was about hope. Everything was about the future,” he said in a statement on Sunday.

Noor Azleen said BN’s approach differed from certain parties that relied on campaign platforms to criticise political opponents and create division among the people.

He claimed young Johoreans were not influenced by such tactics and instead made their choice based on confidence in stability, progress and a better future for the state.

“They were not trapped by sentiments, hate politics, provocation or division.

“Instead, they confidently chose stability, development and a future they believe can continue to move Johor forward,” he said.

Noor Azleen also expressed appreciation to young voters, saying their support sent a clear message that Johor should focus on unity, progress and the well-being of its people.

BN secured a landslide victory in the Johor state election by winning 48 out of the 56 contested State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seats, while Pakatan Harapan (PH) won the remaining eight seats.
