Madani tickets priced from as low as RM200 for the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2026 at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) from October 2 to 4 have sold out, Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari said.
He said SIC reported strong demand from Malaysians after ticket sales were opened to the public.
“As of today, the Madani tickets have completely sold out. However, we will also look into whether there is room and demand for additional Madani tickets. We will announce any developments from time to time,” he told reporters after the closing ceremony of Innovation Development Through Educational Activities (iDEA’26) and the 2026 East Zone Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) tour involving Youth and Sports Ministry Skills Training Institutes (ILKBS) at Dewan Tun Razak here.
The return of the F1 event to Sepang has generated strong interest among Malaysian motorsport fans, with the affordable Madani ticket category aimed at making the race more accessible to the public.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Taufiq said iDEA’26 was more than an innovation competition, as it provided a platform for TVET students to develop their ideas, creativity and technical expertise with the potential to commercialise their products in Malaysia, ASEAN and international markets.
“Their products deserve to be brought to market and should not stop at simply winning a competition. We will assess how these products can be developed further, including making improvements before they are marketed nationwide,” he said.
He added that the Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS) was also strengthening the national TVET agenda through 12 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) signed between skills training institutions and industry partners.
The agreements are aimed at creating more employment opportunities for young people while strengthening connections between skills training and industry requirements.
“That is the purpose of iDEA’26. It is not just about winning competitions, but about developing innovations, creating products with market value and nurturing new talent in the country,” he said.
