Cashier Left Confused After Customer Walks Away With Goods After Paying 1 Sen Using E-Wallet

Date:

A video showing a customer allegedly paying just one sen for a bag of items at a convenience store using a Touch ‘n Go e-wallet has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread discussion online.

The 20-second clip, widely circulated on X, shows a man at the checkout counter with several items being scanned before payment was made through a QR code using a smartphone.

In the footage, the customer is believed to have keyed in a payment of 0.01 sen instead of the actual total, before a transaction confirmation was triggered on the soundbox device.

The cashier can be heard thanking the customer after the payment alert, with the man then seen collecting his items and leaving the store shortly after.

However, moments later, the cashier appears to realise the discrepancy after the soundbox confirmation indicated an unusually low payment amount.

Social media users quickly reacted to the incident, with many questioning whether it was a deliberate act or an accidental input error during the QR payment process.

At the time of reporting, details such as the exact location and timing of the incident have not been independently verified, and it remains unclear whether any formal complaint has been lodged.
