Rafizi Claims Propaganda Placards Smuggled Into Rally To Paint PM Ambitions

Date:

Rafizi Ramli has alleged that there was an attempt to bring in propaganda-themed placards ahead of a rally scheduled to take place later today.

In a statement posted on Facebook on Saturday, the Pandan Member of Parliament said the placards were believed to be designed to create the impression that the gathering was driven by a personal agenda for him to become Prime Minister.

He described the move as “creative”, but sarcastically suggested that those responsible should at least use a more recent photo.

“Apparently, it’s meant to show that this demonstration is for my personal ambition to become PM. Creative indeed. Next time, use a more up-to-date and slimmer picture,” he said.

At the same time, Rafizi urged attendees of the rally to approach anyone carrying such propaganda materials and politely advise them to remove the placards.

“This evening, if you see propaganda placards like these, please advise them nicely to take them down,” he added.

He stressed that the rally does not carry any political agenda and is not intended to benefit any individual or political party, highlighting that such narratives misrepresent the purpose of the gathering.

According to him, the rally is simply an expression from a segment of the public who want to see a better Malaysia, reflecting broader concerns over governance and institutional integrity.
