Eight Houses Destroyed In Early Morning Fire At Kuala Perlis Village

Date:

Eight houses were completely destroyed in a fire that broke out at Kampung Seberang Alor in the Perkampungan Diraja Kuala Perlis area, here, in the early hours of the morning today.

The fire department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 3.38am, prompting an immediate response from fire and rescue teams.

Penolong Penguasa Bomba (PPgB) Nor Ahmad Zaki Ashrafi Nor Azli, who led the operation, said 17 firefighters from the Kuala Perlis and Kangar Fire and Rescue Stations were deployed to the scene shortly after the alert was received.

He added that the firefighting operation was further supported by 30 volunteer firefighters from Simpang Empat, Padang Besar, Kuala Perlis and Pauh, along with a Fire Auxiliary Unit member, all working together to contain the blaze.

Such incidents highlight the critical role of coordinated emergency response teams, particularly in densely built residential areas where fires can spread rapidly.

Upon arrival, firefighters found that the blaze had already engulfed eight homes, along with a motorcycle that was also completely destroyed in the incident.

The fire was successfully brought under control before being fully extinguished at about 4.40am, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures.

Perlis Fire and Rescue Department director Wan Mohd Hamizi Wan Mohd Zin confirmed that no casualties were reported in the incident, although investigations are ongoing to determine the cause.

Fire forensic teams have since been deployed to the scene to conduct detailed examinations, while the extent of losses incurred is still being assessed.

Authorities continue to remind residents to prioritise fire safety measures, especially in tightly packed housing areas where a small ignition can quickly escalate into a major incident.
