The Ministry of Education (MOE) will roll out a nationwide school reform programme next week, with 10 schools in every district selected as pioneer institutions to strengthen education quality, teacher professionalism and student development.
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said each district will nominate five primary schools and five secondary schools to participate in the initiative.
Under the programme, each selected school will be eligible to receive up to RM100,000 to implement reforms and improvement projects tailored to their individual needs.
Fadhlina said she had already met with representatives from the selected schools and was encouraged by their enthusiasm to drive the reform agenda.
“Our offer is up to RM100,000 for each school to carry out meaningful changes and reforms that will improve the learning environment, enhance the quality of education, strengthen student outcomes, and elevate the professionalism and expertise of our teachers,” she said while addressing the ministry’s monthly assembly on Tuesday.
The pilot programme is expected to serve as the foundation for broader education reforms aimed at improving school performance and teaching standards across the country.
