Human Skeleton Found With Motorcycle In WCE Drain, Believed Missing Rider

Date:

A human skeleton was discovered alongside a motorcycle in a drain at KM155.7 of the West Coast Expressway (WCE) southbound here on Wednesday.

The discovery was made by grass-cutting workers carrying out maintenance work in the area after they noticed a foul smell at about 3.39pm.

Bagan Datuk District Police Chief Superintendent Mohammad Ali Mohd Jali said initial investigations found that the victim, who was riding the motorcycle, was believed to have been involved in an accident before falling into the drain at the scene.

He said preliminary information suggested the victim was travelling alone from Teluk Intan towards Sabak Bernam when he allegedly lost control of the motorcycle and skidded off the left side of the road.

“The victim did not receive any assistance until the incident was discovered by members of the public,” he said in a statement on Thursday.

Police also found several personal belongings believed to belong to the victim, including a mobile phone, Malaysian passport and cash, near the remains.

Mohammad Ali said further checks revealed that the victim’s family had lodged a missing person report at the Teluk Intan Police Station on Aug 5.

“Initial investigations believe the remains belong to a 35-year-old Malay man who was reported missing since July 29, 2026,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, with further investigations ongoing.

Members of the public with information related to the incident have been urged to assist the investigation by contacting Traffic Investigation Officer Inspector Normah Abu Hassan.
