Parti Wawasan Negara (Wawasan) has extended an invitation to former Bersatu leaders and members who recently left the party, offering them an alternative platform to continue their political involvement.
Wawasan Terengganu coordinator Datuk Abdul Aziz Ismail said the party was prepared to welcome those seeking a more inclusive political environment based on the New National Consensus concept.
He said Wawasan viewed itself as a platform capable of bringing together political figures with different backgrounds, while allowing them to contribute their experience and strengths towards a broader national agenda.
“Wawasan Terengganu is opening its doors to Bersatu leaders and members who have resigned if they wish to continue their political struggle through a new and inclusive platform, with the New National Consensus concept as its political philosophy,” he said in a statement today.
The offer comes a day after three senior Bersatu leaders in Terengganu announced their resignations. They include Terengganu Bersatu leadership body chief Datuk Razali Idris, Telemong assemblyman Mohd Zawawi Ismail and Hulu Besut assemblyman Mohd Husaimi Hussin.
Razali, who is also the Kijal assemblyman, said he had submitted his resignation letter to Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on July 16. Zawawi resigned as the party’s state information chief, while Husaimi stepped down as its treasurer.
Abdul Aziz said Wawasan’s decision to welcome former Bersatu members was driven by its belief that national politics should move beyond internal divisions and ongoing political uncertainty.
He said greater attention should instead be given to the future of Malaysians and the country’s development, adding that political cooperation could benefit from a more mature and inclusive approach.
The move is also consistent with Wawasan president Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin’s call for former Bersatu leaders to continue their political struggle through Wawasan.
Abdul Aziz said Hamzah reiterated the invitation during the party’s Special Delegates Meeting last night, reflecting Wawasan’s commitment to providing former Bersatu leaders with a new avenue to remain active in politics.
