Malaysians holding a MyKad will be able to watch the Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia 2026 at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) from as low as RM200 under a special Madani ticket initiative.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the initiative was agreed upon following discussions and mutual consent between the Malaysian and Bahraini governments.
He said the special tickets would provide MyKad holders with access to the three-day event, scheduled to take place from Oct 2 to 4.
Anwar said the government had been considering the Madani ticket offer for several weeks before reaching an agreement with Bahrain.
He expressed hope that the initiative would allow more Malaysians to experience the excitement of Formula One racing in person at Sepang, rather than watching the event remotely.
Further details on the sale of the Madani tickets will be announced by SIC in the near future, he said in a Facebook post.
The special ticket offer comes as the official Bahrain Grand Prix website previously listed several MyKad-specific ticket categories, with prices ranging from RM200 to RM2,083.40.
The most affordable option is Hillstand G at RM200, while Hillstand B and Hillstand C are priced at RM809.60 each.
For grandstand seating, tickets are priced at RM1,291.40 for Grandstand F, RM1,386 for Grandstand K1 and RM2,083.40 for the Main Grandstand.
The Main Grandstand, Grandstand K1 and Grandstand F provide seated viewing areas with covered spaces, while Hillstand B, C and G offer open-air grassy viewing areas.
The special rates are exclusively available to MyKad holders, with an eligibility verification process required before purchase.
Transactions will be processed in Bahraini dinars based on the prevailing exchange rate at the time of purchase, according to the ticket information.
