Man Found Unconscious After Dispute, Two Men Arrested

Date:

Police have arrested two local men to assist investigations into a serious assault case involving a man who was found unconscious four months ago in the Salak South area.

Cheras district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud said both suspects, believed to be in their early 30s, were detained around Razak City Residences yesterday.

The incident occurred on April 9 when a 29-year-old local man was discovered unconscious near a temple in the Salak South area. He was found with serious injuries and required medical attention.

Initial investigations indicate that the incident may have stemmed from an argument between the victim and the suspects.

Police checks found that the first suspect has a previous wanted record under Section 354 of the Penal Code, while the second has two previous records involving drug-related offences.

“Police also seized an iron bracelet believed to have been used during the incident,” Mohd Rosdi said in a statement today.

Both suspects have been remanded for one day to assist investigations under Section 326 of the Penal Code, which concerns voluntarily causing grievous hurt using a dangerous weapon or means.

Police are continuing investigations to establish the full circumstances surrounding the assault and the involvement of both suspects.
