Budget 2027: PTPTN Repayments Eased With Minimum RM50 Monthly Payments

Date:

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced measures to ease National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) loan repayments under Budget 2027, with repayment requirements adjusted according to borrowers’ monthly income.

Borrowers earning RM2,500 or less will be allowed to defer their repayments, according to the Budget 2027 materials.

Meanwhile, those earning between RM2,501 and RM3,000 will be required to make minimum monthly repayments of RM50.

The government will also offer a 10% discount to borrowers who make regular repayments without arrears, encouraging more consistent loan repayment.

The measures are aimed at easing the financial burden on graduates, particularly those with lower incomes, while encouraging responsible repayment of education loans.
