Thai Mother Jailed For Forcing 12-Year-Old Daughter Into Prostitution In Japan

Date:

A heartless Thai mother has been slammed with seven-and-a-half years behind bars after brutally trafficking her own 12-year-old daughter and forcing the child into a nightmare of prostitution in Tokyo.

The Criminal Court handed down the shocking verdict yesterday, June 29, in a case that has sickened authorities on both sides of the investigation.

The nightmare began last June when 29-year-old Luck took her young daughter to Japan on a visa-free trip. Instead of protecting her, the mum allegedly dumped the terrified girl at a sleazy massage shop in Tokyo’s Bunkyo area and trained her to perform sexual services for paying clients.

Over a horrifying 33-day period, the innocent 12-year-old was forced to service more than 60 men, while sleeping on a dirty kitchen floor and surviving on scraps of food, according to reports.

The sleazy operation raked in over 600,000 yen (around 123,000 baht) from the child’s exploitation before Luck abandoned her daughter with a promise to return — a promise she never kept.

Japanese and Thai police launched a joint probe after the brave young girl finally reported her ordeal to authorities in November. The 51-year-old Japanese owner of the massage parlour was arrested for child labour offences.

Luck, who had previously worked abroad as a masseuse, was eventually tracked down and arrested in Taiwan before being sent back to Thailand to face justice.

In court, the mother admitted everything. Despite having no previous criminal record, the judge found her guilty of human trafficking and facilitating prostitution. Her original 15-year sentence was halved to seven years and six months due to her confession. Her mobile phone was also seized as evidence.

The case has sparked outrage, highlighting the horrifying reality of child sex trafficking and the shocking betrayal by a mother who sold out her own flesh and blood for profit.
