A 15-year-old girl was found dead at a housing area in Precinct 5, Putrajaya, on Saturday night.
Putrajaya District Police Headquarters (IPD) received information about the incident through the MERS 999 emergency line at about 10.33pm.
Putrajaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Aidi Sham Mohamed said initial investigations found that the teenager was discovered lying in the compound of the housing area.
“The teenager lived with her family on the ninth floor of the building.
“She was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical officer from Putrajaya Hospital,” he said in a statement on Sunday.
The girl’s remains were taken for further action, with a post-mortem scheduled for 9am on Sunday.
Aidi Sham said the case was classified as a sudden death, while the cause of the incident remains under investigation.
