Three Bangladeshi workers were killed while another was injured following a violent fight at a plantation in Taman Linggi, Port Dickson, on Monday afternoon.
Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said police received a report from members of the public at about 4.15pm regarding a fight involving several Bangladeshi workers who were employed at the same plantation.
A police team from the Linggi police station rushed to the scene and arrested a fellow Bangladeshi man in his 40s believed to be involved in the incident.
Further investigations led officers to discover the bodies of two more victims, aged in their 40s and 50s, at the Sua Manggis plantation in Linggi.
Police said all three victims died from severe injuries sustained to various parts of their bodies, while another injured worker is receiving treatment at Rembau Hospital.
Initial checks found that the suspect has no previous criminal record.
The suspect has been remanded for seven days by the Port Dickson Magistrate’s Court, while the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
Police said the motive and circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
