Missing Form One Student Found Safe In Inanam

A 12-year-old Form One student who was reported missing on Monday has been found safe in Inanam, Kota Kinabalu.

Gwynne Mia Erbin was found alone outside a friend’s house at about 3pm on Tuesday.

Acting Kota Kinabalu district police chief Superintendent Syed Lot Syed Ab Rahman said the girl was in good health and had no visible injuries.

“Based on her initial statement, the victim said she had been with a friend since the previous day,” he said in a statement.

The teenager was later taken by her mother to the Kota Kinabalu District Police Headquarters (IPD) to lodge a follow-up report and assist with further investigations.

Following her safe return, Syed Lot urged the public not to speculate or spread unverified information about the case while police investigations are ongoing.

He said any information regarding the incident should be obtained through official channels provided by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

He also thanked members of the public for their cooperation, information and assistance in sharing the missing person notice.

The student was previously reported missing after she failed to attend school on Monday, despite being dropped off at her school in Likas that morning.
