Woman Injured As Fire Damages Two Houses In Bukit Chandang

An elderly woman suffered burns to about five per cent of her left shoulder in a fire involving two houses in Lorong Chandang 5, Kampung Bukit Chandang, on Thursday morning.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the woman, believed to be in her 80s, was injured during the blaze before receiving further medical treatment.

He said the department received an emergency call at 9.27am, while firefighters from the Kuala Kubu Bharu Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene at 9.40am.

“The fire involved two detached houses. The first house, a Class B structure, was about 80 per cent damaged, while the second, a Class A structure, suffered about three per cent damage,” he said in a statement today.

The operation was brought under control at 9.58am, involving 10 firefighters from the Kuala Kubu Bharu and Bukit Sentosa fire stations.

Ashrul Riezal said the cause of the fire and the total losses were still under investigation.
