Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced plans to provide 100,000 additional free artificial intelligence (AI) subscriptions to young Malaysians under the government’s digital learning initiative.

The programme will offer eligible youths free access to leading AI applications, potentially including tools such as ChatGPT, for three months after they complete designated learning modules under the Rakyat Digital programme.
The initiative targets Malaysians aged 18 to 30 and is aimed at expanding access to AI technology while improving digital skills among the younger generation.
Participants will be required to complete the prescribed courses, which cover areas including generative AI, AI safety, cybersecurity and cloud computing, before qualifying for the free subscriptions.
The initiative forms part of the government’s wider efforts to equip young Malaysians with the digital skills needed to adapt to an increasingly AI-driven economy.
