A cryptic Facebook post by DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke has triggered speculation among social media users over who he was referring to.
The Seremban MP posted only the Malay proverb “habis madu, sepah dibuang”, which broadly refers to discarding something once it is no longer useful.
Loke did not provide any explanation or identify the person behind the message, leaving netizens to speculate over its intended meaning.
Some social media users questioned whether the post could be linked to former Bangi MP Dr Ong Kian Ming, who announced his resignation from DAP today.
Ong said he would remain committed to serving the country despite stepping away from active party politics. He also reaffirmed his intention to assist former Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin in campaigning for the 16th General Election, should Khairy be given a seat to contest.
The former deputy international trade and industry minister also said he had no immediate plans to join another political party and did not intend to contest in the next general election.
However, Loke has not indicated that his post was directed at Ong, and the connection remains speculation among social media users.
