A popular Indian social media influencer known for showcasing cash and jewellery on YouTube has fallen victim to a robbery at her home.
Rachna Gurjar, who has nearly 100,000 followers, said the incident occurred while she and her family were asleep at their residence in Shivpuri district, Madhya Pradesh.
CCTV footage reportedly showed several intruders breaking into the house and making away with jewellery, cash, and even a box of energy drinks.
Authorities said the stolen items are estimated to be worth around US$10,500 (RM43,000).
Investigators also noted that the suspects allegedly repositioned the CCTV cameras to avoid being identified during the break-in.
Police have launched an investigation into the case, with authorities not ruling out the possibility that the influencer’s online habit of displaying wealth may have played a role in the incident.
The case has sparked widespread online debate about the risks of flaunting wealth and revealing too much personal security information on social media.
