Water Supply in Limbahau Disrupted Amid Suspected Sabotage

Date:

The ongoing water supply disruption affecting several villages in the Limbahau constituency since last month is believed to be an act of sabotage.

Assistant Minister of Rural Development Datuk Juil Nuatim said he would leave the matter to the authorities for a thorough investigation. A police report has already been lodged by Papar MP Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali.

“This issue affects many consumers, so we leave it to the authorities to conduct an investigation and take appropriate action,” Juil said during the Limbahau State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Open House at Kampung Biau’s multipurpose hall, held in celebration of Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026.

According to initial information, the disruption involved damage to the sluice valve at two booster pumps operated by the Sabah Water Department (JANS), causing problems in water supply to the affected areas.

On another note, Juil announced plans for a new town in Limbahau, to be developed at Kampung Gana over an area of approximately 200 acres.

“This project is part of our efforts to transform the landscape of the Limbahau DUN area. In addition, a secondary school is also proposed to cater to students pursuing their secondary education. Limbahau currently has many primary schools, but only one missionary secondary school, which can accommodate around 400 students at a time. Many children have to continue their studies in Papar District, which is far away and results in high transportation costs,” he explained.
