A woman was spotted sitting motionless in the middle of the North-South Expressway, causing passing vehicles to slow down and swerve to avoid her in a shocking incident that has since gone viral on social media.
A 21-second video circulating online showed the Malay woman seated calmly on the highway divider area despite heavy traffic moving around her.
Several cars and lorries passing through the area were forced to reduce speed, while some drivers reportedly honked repeatedly in an attempt to alert her. However, the woman appeared unresponsive and remained seated on the road.
Towards the end of the video, a man could be seen crossing over the central road divider from the opposite direction, believed to be attempting to bring the woman to safety before an accident could occur.
Based on information shared online, the incident is believed to have taken place along the North-South Expressway near Seberang Jaya, Penang.
The video was uploaded to the Facebook page “Penang Kini” and quickly attracted widespread attention and discussion among netizens.
Some social media users expressed concern that the woman may have been dealing with emotional stress or personal struggles, with many hoping she would receive proper help and support.
